"Football is not number one in my list of accomplishments," said Brown. "I live a life that is not easy to explain because some of my greatest deeds are done in the middle of the night when the public is not around."
Brown is indeed a community activist and a team player. He openly thanked former heavyweight champion George Forman and TSU alumus and Southwest Regional Director of Amer-I-Can, Richard Johnson, for suggesting the inclusion of veterans into the program. This will be the first year that military veterans will help train the hundreds of young adults that endure the 15 chapter life management skills curriculum.
"There is a boot camp concept… these young people will receive a lot of information in a very short time. They will receive life training that is life changing," said Richard Johnson. "The students will be educated, motivated, and steered in the right direction for achieving their goals."
The 60 to 90 hour summer program will begin on June 6 and continue through July 31. Those students who do meet TSU's minimum requirements will have an opportunity to enroll at the university after successfully completing the conditional summer academic program.
