Ruby Washington wins the Miss TSU Pageant

Washington went on to say, "My primary focus is going to be on my platform which involves technology and focuses on students, children, and senior citizens in our community. This will help them to successfully navigate computers, voting polls, cell phones, and personal digital assistants (P.D.A's), todays must have electronics."
Unfortunately, only one young lady could wear the crown of Miss Texas Southern.
"The most memorable moment of the pageant wasn't the most exciting," said contestant Katiera Winfrey, broadcast journalism junior.
Winfrey went on to say, "The moment I will always remember was when the top three names were called and my name wasn't included. I felt comfortless because I knew I had done a wonderful job, and I felt as if all my hard work had gone unrecognized. I believe for the most part the panel of judges were blinded by their familiarity with some of the other contestants, and failed to open their eyes to the other competitors and their true worth. I would like to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!! TO MISS RUBY WASHINGTON!!!! And MUCH LOVE TO ALL THE OTHER CONTESTANT." said Winfrey.
Miss Texas Southern University 2008-2009 believes that her dream has come true.
"I remember the first time I heard the words…TSU, TSU, We Love You, TSU. I was inspired. From that moment I decided to set goals, work hard, and stay active in campus organizations. I consider it my responsibility to exhibit the same enthusiasm and undeniable love for My University, My TSU!"
